Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (PreK – Knd)
Coordinator: Anna Swope
This year, this class meets on Sundays during the 12PM Mass (NEW timing) (registration required)!
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a faith formation program based on the Montessori method of teaching. Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is founded on the belief that children already have a relationship with God and are eager to learn about Him. The program is for preschool-age through kindergarten kids in our “atrium,” which is a room specifically designed and used for CGS. We are equipped with Level 1 Atrium.
The program is amazing because it is so interactive and leaves room for the natural creativity and joy of kids. Some of the manipulatives in the atrium used to teach about the faith include maps of the Holy Land, priest vestments, a liturgical calendar “puzzle,” and a mini tabernacle and altar.
For 2024-25, our classes will meet weekly in-person beginning September 15 – through April. Sundays 11:45AM – 1:15PM (during the 12PM Mass). Limited space available. We also have a “no registration required” option for Preschoolers and Kindergartners – which is to attend the 10AM Mass on Sunday and participate in Children’s Liturgy during that Mass.
